If you’re an existing customer but haven’t yet made 12 monthly payments, you’ll have the option to pay an additional amount to make up for it when you upgrade.

You don’t get special treatment if you’re an existing iPhone Upgrade Program customer. AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited has authorised Apple Sales New Zealand to handle any claims you may have for accidental damage from handling.Apple says that “availability for the new iPhone is determined on a first-come, first-served basis as pre-orders are placed.” That means that if you want one on launch day, you’ll need to claim yours as quickly as possible after pre-orders go live on October 27. Neither Apple nor its distributors are authorised to provide any financial advice in respect of the insurance cover for accidental damage from handling. In New Zealand, coverage for accidental damage from handling is provided for your benefit pursuant to a group insurance policy that Apple Sales New Zealand (the insured) has purchased from AIG Insurance New Zealand Limited.

Same‑day service availability and options may vary by region and iPhone model. Service coverage may be subject to certain restrictions. Replacement equipment that Apple provides as part of the repair or replacement service may be new or equivalent to new in both performance and reliability. Any unused incidents will expire after 12 months of coverage and you will get two more incidents to use within the next 12 months of continued coverage. The back glass damage service fee is only available for iPhone 12 and iPhone 13 models. Service coverage is available only for iPhone and its original included accessories, for protection against (i) batteries that retain less than 80 per cent of their original capacity, and (ii) up to two incidents of accidental damage protection every 12 months, each incident is subject to a service fee of NZ$49 for screen or back glass damage, or NZ$169 for any other damage. Coverage begins on your AppleCare+ purchase date.
